Therapy FAQs

4. How often should I attend sessions?

Most clients start with weekly sessions, though the frequency can be adjusted based on your goals, progress, and availability. Your therapist will work with you to create a schedule that supports your growth.

5. What types of therapy do you offer?

We offer:

  • Individual therapy for personal growth, anxiety, depression, trauma, and more

  • Couples therapy to improve communication, intimacy, and problem-solving

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for trauma and distressing memories

  • Telehealth sessions for convenience and accessibility

Therapists often integrate approaches such as CBT, DBT, SFBT, person-centered therapy, strengths-based therapy, motivational interviewing, TFCBT, and mindfulness, depending on your needs.

6. What if I’m nervous about starting therapy?

Feeling nervous is normal! Many clients feel anxious before their first session. Your therapist will create a safe, nonjudgmental space, guide you through the process, and support you as you begin. Remember, taking this first step is a sign of strength.

7. How much does therapy cost, and do you accept insurance?

  • Individual therapy: $120 per session

  • Couples therapy: $150 per session

  • ART sessions: $150 per session

Sliding scale options may be available—proof of income and household size is required. It is your responsibility to contact your insurance provider about out-of-network benefits. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session rate.

8. Is what I share in therapy confidential?

Yes. All sessions are confidential, protected under HIPAA once therapy begins. Exceptions include situations required by law, such as risk of harm to yourself or others, child or elder abuse, or a court order.

9. How do I prepare for my first session?

  • Think about your goals and what you hope to achieve

  • Gather relevant information, such as medications or prior therapy experiences

  • Be ready to share openly and ask questions

  • Remember that the first session is a chance to build a safe, trusting foundation

10. How do I get started?

1. What should I expect in my first therapy session?

Your first session is an opportunity to get to know your

therapist, discuss your goals, and share your concerns.

You’ll also learn about the therapy process, confidentiality,

and how sessions typically work. It’s a time to ask questions

and see if the therapist is a good fit for you.

2. How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy can help anyone facing emotional, relational, or life

challenges. If you’re feeling stuck, stressed, anxious, depressed,

or experiencing relationship difficulties, therapy may provide

support, tools, and guidance. You can also start with a free

15-minute phone consultation to see if it feels like a good fit.

3. How long does therapy take?

The length of therapy varies depending on your goals, the

issues you’re addressing, and the approach used. Some clients

see meaningful change in a few sessions, while others benefit

from longer-term therapy. Your therapist will collaborate with

you to set a plan tailored to your needs.
